Dear AIBA National Federations,
Dear Boxing Family,
On behalf of the Polish Boxing Association, I would like to kindly inform you that despite the lockdown announced in Poland and the related sanitary restrictions, our preparations for the AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships are proceeding as planned, and the championships will be held on the planned date of April 10-24, 2021 in Kielce, Poland.
In accordance with the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of the Government of the Republic of Poland, published in the Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland, on December 21, 2020, No. 2316, competitive sport is exempt from COVID 19 sanitary restrictions.
It is allowed to organize sports events (without the participation of the public) and to organize training for sportsmen. Athletes and teams from other countries coming to Poland are exempt from quarantine.
The only conditions that must be met when crossing the border must be shown:
- Invitation to AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships, issued by the Polish Boxing Association
- Negative COVID test not older than 72 hours
- Visa to enter Poland – if it is required for the country from which the competition participant is coming
As organizers, we will make every effort and care to ensure the maximum security of the participants of the championship. Each participant will receive masks, will have unlimited access to disinfectants, there will be special disinfecting devices at the championships, and we have also prepared a special daily testing program for participants.
I believe that our preparation and your discipline in obeying sanitary rules, social distance, limiting contacts and disinfecting will guarantee that this championship will be safe for all of us.
I know this is a difficult time all over the world. The conditions related to securing and protecting against COVID are very hard demanding for the organizers and participants of sports events.
But I also know that boxers are tough people, with great character and strength, who can meet the greatest challenges, everyone who has entered the ring at least once, knows that. BOXING is a sport for strong people!
Thanks to your help and commitment, as the boxing family, we will show that we are able to organize beautiful, safe and powerful sports events.
I wish all of us a lot of health and strength.
See you at AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships in Kielce!
Grzegorz Nowaczek
President of the Polish Boxing Association
