The first fights of the AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships start today. All of the national teams are prepared to show their best skills.
One day before the start young boxers had an opportunity to train together with AIBA President Mr. Umar Kremlev. The open training session took place at the historical place near the city of Kielce, The Royal Castle in Chęciny.
More than 60 participants of the Championships, young boxers from different countries all around the globe, and the President of the Polish Boxing Association Mr. Grzegorz Nowaczek attended the event. The Ambassador of the Championships, Youth Olympic Games winner Elzbieta Wojcik also took part in the training.
‘I am happy to be present here and to communicate directly with our young generation of boxers. All we do as functionaries, we do for them and for future of clean and transparent boxing,’ Mr. Kremlev said.
‘AIBA is very grateful to the Polish Boxing Association and the LOC for all preparations already done to make this Championships happen. We need to give future boxing stars the possibility to perform at the international level, we need to support them and their coaches. Let’s show beautiful fights!’ Mr. Kremlev added.
In total, there are 414 boxers attending the 2021 AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships, 140 women and 274 men from 52 countries.
